Research Topics on the DAM

Department of Archaeology and Museology at Faculty of Arts Masaryk University embraces a lot of excellent research teams and projects. Research activities of DAM are focused on all main interested periods of archaeology, as well as on methodological research, and interdisciplinary research in cooperation with lot of disciplines. In total, the research attendance is focused, from both theoretical and practical point of view, on settled area in landscape frame and its changes in time, landscape archaeology, dynamics of social processes in past, prehistoric and historical technology and its environmental impacts, and relation of humans to environment in general. We generate methodological standards for processes of archaeological prospection and excavation, and cultural heritage care. Methodology of tangible findings rescue, care, conservation, and interpretation is inseparable part of our activities (UNESCO Chair on Museology and World Heritage).

Research activities of DAM teams are interconnected with international research. We cooperate with excellent foreign partners and we present our research results on international conferences regularly.
