Department of Museology
The Department of Museology in Brno counts among the oldest education centres in this discipline worldwide. Already in 1921, Faculty of Arts MU established a Lectorate in Museum Studies, which was followed by an external Chair of Museology in 1963. The Department of Museology currently falls within the Department of Archaeology and Museology. It has its own library with an extensive stock of Czech and foreign museological literature. The Department also has its own exhibition collection.
The teaching is realised by prominent experts in the discipline, including external lecturers from the practice and foreign experts.

Informal meetings of museology students and alumni are supported by the Society of Brno Museologists.
